If you use
and store your make up incorrectly, you can infect and damage your
skin.
The main ingredient of the modern cosmetics is water. It is a perfect
ground for the breeding of various germs which can infect your skin
and cause illnesses.
Most make up
products contain special chemicals which can preserve the make up and
prevent from the infesting of germs. However the protective power of
preservatives can weaken if the product is constantly exposed to
heat, sunlight and humidity.
There are also many products on the market which are natural and
preservative-free. These cosmetics are more vulnerable to becoming
germ cultures because they don't contain chemicals which kill these
germs.
It is possible to protect your cosmetics from germs. All you need to
do is to use proper hygiene in storing and using make up and makeup
tools.
Recommendations for use and storage of the make up
1. Your make up products and tools should be stored in
cool and dry place. Avoid exposing these products to direct sunlight.
2. Close make up containers tightly when you are not
using it.
3. Cover tightly all your pencils, whether eyebrow
pencils, lip-liners or eye-liners when you put them in the storage
and sharpen them after every use.
4. Products having stick form such as stick foundations
and blushes should be wiped off well with a clean tissue after every
application.
5. Don't wear any make up if you have skin infection.
Throw away all the items which have been used during the outbreak
because your infection will keep recurring.
6. Use disposable clean and dry disposable applicators
to put on your make up instead of your fingers.
7. Don't borrow make up and make up tools to your
mother, sisters or closest girlfriends.
8. If your product changed in its color, texture, smell
or even taste you need to dispose of the product and buy a new.
9. If the consistency of the product has changed you
mustn't add water or saliva to the product. It should be thrown away.
10. Wash all make up tools which have been used such as
the applicators, the brushes and the spongers, once a week. You can
look for good quality make up cleansers or simply use mild soap and
dishwashing liquid. Dry your make up tools carefully before putting
them away.
