Health & Beauty Tips

Dear Kylie-Jane,

Sooo... we have all heard the old saying "LESS IS MORE" but how to do you go about looking fabulous without having to apply the make-up with a spatula??

This week I am going to show you how do apply
"No make-up make-up"

It is simple to do and will be a great look for every day that wont take you ages to apply in the mornings!

Enjoy :)

dark circles Q. I have dark circles under my eyes, what causes it?

A. What's causing your dark circles? Here are a few examples of some conditions that are most commonly the culprits behind those dark under eye circles.

The Sun Hurts - The sun's rays can be behind your dark circles. The area under your eyes may tan faster than the rest of your facial skin does. This makes for darker tones here.

Nutrition - If you don't get enough deep colored vegetables in your diet, you could be facing a nutrition caused dark circle problem. To remedy this problem, eat more antioxidant rich foods, regularly.

Lack of Sleep - If you tossed and turned last night (or the last two nights,) then the lack of sleep can bring on the dark circles under the eyes too. The more tired you are, the more the skin allows blood under your eyes to be noticeable. This makes you look more blue or darker in complexion under your eyes.

Hereditary - Unfortunately, for some, it's all in the genes. If your mother had them, it is likely that you too will have dark circles under your eyes.

This is similar to having varicose veins. As the amount of blood increases to this area of your body, it may be more visible and allow your skin to look darker in color than the rest of your face.

Kylie-Jane suggests the following Product,

to assist with dark circles or puffiness under eyes:

Timewise Targeted-Action Eye Revitaliser $56

No make-up make-up

 natural

A little make-up goes a long way to creating a polished face that looks perfectly natural.

Less really is more when it comes to applying your make-up. Most women (and men) would unanimously agree that the more natural and radiant you look, the better. And, while heavy, full-coverage foundation and bold eyes, lips and cheeks can give you an immaculate finish, they are not always necessary. You can also create a perfectly polished look with a few subtle products that only you know are there.

1

Foundation helps to even out your skin tone. For light, barely-there coverage that looks as natural as possible, apply foundation with a damp sponge. Sweep it on, applying it only where needed, then blend well. Another alternative is to use a Mineral Foundation and sweep it over sparingly.

2

A metallic crème eye shadow in a neutral shade is easy to apply, and gives the eyes some natural definition as well as a healthy sheen. Use the pad of your finger to blend the creamy shadow all over your eyelid.

3

Mascara gives the eyes instant drama and definition. For a softer, more natural effect, try brown or brown-black mascara, which flatters most complexions. Apply one coat to your upper and lower lashes and comb through.

4

Adding a little colour to your complexion can make it look younger, fresher and healthier. Use a creamy, sheer multiple lip and cheek product. Lightly blend onto your cheeks with your fingers and apply to your lips with a brush.

DO'S AND DONT'S
DO choose natural, flattering colours that blend well with your skin tone

DONT use crème to powder foundations - they can look cakey

DO apply a tinted moisturiser for a naturally fresh dewy complexion

DONT use too much product - apply in light layers, just a little at a time

DO try multiple products - with their sheer texture, they will look barely-there

DONT forget to keep brows groomed to give eyes make-up free definition

Kylie-Jane suggests the following

 Products,  to apply natural make-up:
