sunglasses Q. When I wear my sunglasses, they tend to rub off the make-up at the sides of my nose, leaving two little red footprints. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

A. Your sunglasses probably fit quite snugly against your face, which is why your skin perspires underneath them, causing your make-up to slip and slide. Try oil free or long lasting, transfer resistant roundations, ans they have superior staying power. Alternatively, try using a primer underneath your regular foundation. Dont forget face powder, even if it is just a little dusted over the skin.

Kylie-Jane suggests the following

 Products,  to aleviate this problem:

MK Mineral Foundation $30

MK Eye Primer $25

MK Medium Coverage Foundation $28

MK Sheer Mineral Pressed Powder $24

Smouldering Eyes

If you want to create a quick and simple, but effective "smoky" make-up with the use of powder eyeshadow's, choose 2-3 shades from the same colour palette (e.g. black, dark grey and light grey. Use small, thick brushes which will help you spread the product more precisely.

With make-up of this type the only facial elements that attract attention are the "smoky" eyes - so keep lips and cheeks subtle.

Start the make-up by applying a matte base eyeshadow over the whole eye area; this should be a colour very similar to the shade of your skin.

eyes STEP 1.

Using a small flat brush, apply the lightest eyeshadow (in our example, the light grey) on the upper eye lid - if, in your case, the space between the upper eyelid and the eyebrow is too wide, dont take the colour all the way up to the eyebrow.

bannerSTEP 2.

Apply the middle-hued eye-shadow on the upper eyelid, from the outer corner of the eye to the inner. Remember to smudge the border between the colours thoroughly. Apply the same clour along the lower eyelid, putting it right up to the lash line.

With a small, thick brush apply the darkets eyeshadow on the upper and lower eyelids, put it at the lash line around the entire eye. Smudge carefully using the middle-hued eyeshadow.

ATTENTION:- In the case of small eyes, avoid using black eyeshadow and absolutely do not apply it in the eye's inner corners, because it will make the eye look smaller and the make-up wont be impressive. Instead of black, use something softer, such as navy blue or dark grey.

Continue the application of the darkest eyeshadow. With a round ended brush, spread it in the areas in which you normally do the eye contouring. These are the areas at the outer corners and the crease above the eye.

Finally, with an eye pencil, contour the upper and the lower rims. The shade of the eye pencil should be darker than the colour of the eyeshadows you have used. Black is a great colour to use.

To finish, just remember that beautiful Brown or grey "smoky" make-up is perfect for less formal occasions or day-time functions, while blue and black suits more evening functions.

Kylie-Jane suggests the following

 Products,  to create this look:

MK Granite Eye Colour $12

MK Expresso Eye Colour $12

MK Coal Eye Colour $12

MK Steel Eye Colour $12

MK Black Eyeliner $17

Bad Stress Warning Signs

stressConstant Stres can damage your health. Stress is a feeling that's created when you react to certain events. It's the body's way of rising to a challenge and preparing to meet a tough situation with focus, strength, stamina, and heightened alertness. If you suffer from any of these bad stress warning signs, its time to get your stress under control:-

  • rapid, uneven or pounding heartbeat
  • fast, shallow breathing
  • muscle tension, pains or trembling
  • headaches or backaches
  • skin problems, such as eczema
  • eating more or less than usual
  • digestive problems
  • frequent urge to pass urine
  • reduced immunity when you get any bug going around

Tips to reduce your stress:-

  • Look out for overload warning signs. When work starts piling up, take control straight away
  • If you panic easily, practise simple relaxation methods - drop your shoulders, relax and take slow, deep breaths

Take time out - problems seem more managable when you've had a chance to step back.

Kylie-Jane suggests the following Products to relax:

MK Lotus & Bamboo Collection
MK Red Tea & Fig Collection
Satin Hands Pampering Set $68
